Best of Couture Week.

Image

After traveling most of June and July, I finally found some time to express myself after so many influences during the early summer months. To be completely honest I think the couture weeks are my favorite source of fashion inspiration. The more over the top the better. And ever since the discussion on weather trends were actually still relevant anymore, I seek to the extravagant even more!
I noticed that angles were in every department. At Viktor&Rolf in broken frames as sleeves, crossed and ripped out face paintings at Margiela and pipe smoking models at Jean Paul Gaultier.

But first and foremost —> My go to look on European evenings.

Block Party – Fall 15′ Influences

Image

Prada-The-Postman-Dreams-3-750x562

I don’t think a “trend” could be any clearer for Fall 2015. Color blocking has never been so prominent in the fall collections this time around and the combinations are very on point!

The 60’s has taken a stronger seat in in the house now since all that 70’s we have seen all over spring. But this time it is very colorful! Not just the typical “fall jewel tones” that we usually see for the holiday seasons but actual candy rainbow blocks on sophisticated silhouettes.

I Personally tend to avoid this block party (not an actual one 😉 because it can go so wrong if you don’t get it right! However now that almost every designer will be launching this trend this fall it should be impossible to fail at it.
Furthermore, here are some of our favorites so far!

On This weeks “Style Spy” we decided to shine our light on one of the hottest models of the moments, Cara Delevingne.
Cara began her modelling career at the very tender age of 10 when she first appeared in Vogue Italia modelling for the English chocolate brand Cadbury. Since then she has continued working with almost every premium brand on the European and American market today and she is currently the face of Burberry’s beauty campaign alongside fellow british models Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn.

Cara has since her first shoot as a junior model continued on her way to stardom and landed ad campaigns for brands like Blumarine, DKNY, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Zara, and Chanel.
She has also built an incredible resume of runway shows she has walked for, and Moschino, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Stella McCartney,Dsquared, Lanvin, Givenchy and Chanel are all brands who book her for every season for their SS and FW shows.
In 2012 and 2013 she became a part of the “Victoria Secret Angel” squad and walked the prestigious annual runway show alongside fellow Brazilian super star models Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes and Gisele Bundchen.

The next venture Cara is pursuing is her music and singing. She is working with top producer of the 20th century Pharell Williams on her new album and they have recorded a song called “CC the world” which has been used for the short Chanel film “Reincarnation” in which the both star.

We hope to meet Cara during our trip to New York for Fashion Week so stay tuned for more from Re’s Weekly SS updates!

SS15 COLORCAST “STRONG ACCENTS”

Image

Welcome to our last color forecast for this season. We would like to say that we saved the best for last, but I love all of the seasons combinations equally and It just happen to go from light to dark this time.

These colours are more saturated but in a grey cast so they are cold, and therefore will look really great in our spring outerwear and leather goods and accessories. Even the pink has a grey tone to it which makes it more sophisticated and settle than a lot of neon pink you usually see for the spring seasons. Last season Blues were yellow casted and loud, now they have become more toned down and somber for SS15, which is something I have always preferred when styling, mostly because I don’t like too much contrast. Even though this color palette seem very dark for spring it all makes sense when you look at the runway and the couture shows where we get our main inspiration from. I will link back to this color series when I write our accessories report!

Stay tuned! Re.

SS15 COLOR FORECAST “FOGGY SKIES”

Image

For this seasons forecast we have decided to divide the report into a six step mini series of color forecasts to get the perfect portion at a time!
The first segment is called “Foggy Skies” because it tells you what elements that has inspired us, and how light has been of major importance when discovering colour charts for SS15. Our selection contains of 6 hues: powder ivory, blush winter, lemon tart, smog, shabby rose and sundust.

I like to start with the basics when building palettes in nudes, shades or whites, only so that you can set your ground work before you add all the main brights and accents.
It is important to keep in mind that this is just a chart of predicted colours, and that they are created to guide you and your ideas in the design process. Not to set boundaries or to limit your creative vision, so remember to have fun with it and don’t set any limits to your creations.
