Florals for spring?
Groundbreaking , a must! Let’s face it, there is no way to avoid it, and at the end of the day, the first thing we see when we are shopping is color, so happy multi-colored prints might just appeal to us really well!
Fortunately, spring is coming and we are looking at three things, what we have seen on the runway, whats on the streets and what is available in our beloved magazines.
I personally look mostly to the future and whats next (as always) but one thing that really made me stop and look were the oriental floral prints that we saw at some of our favourite designers this season.
One of them is the super strong Carven who are (if you don’t know already killing it right now.) French of course, but very innovative and forward. Some just do it ahead of time, and they are definitely one to watch for the next step in design!
“Fast, speed, vertical and linear” were the key words to describe the SS15 collection with strong Japanese influences, boxy structured handbags, sporty waves of color dashes on dresses and snake print blocks on A-line shapes.
Time to plan your holiday escape to the caribbean and start gathering some inspiration from the resort collections. Below I’ve picked three outfits from my favourite resort 15 shows and put together simple everyday ways to wear the trends. We’re seeing super soft cashmere in powder pink, colour coordinated from head to toe with matching skirt and shoe from DKNY. Mixing the fabrics like this and wearing a metallic sneaker gives a hot edge to an otherwise very vanilla combo. Psychedelic yet lined prints with flower combinations and stripes from Clover Canyon. Surprisingly forgiving and easy to combine and wear, almost anything goes. Choose a good fabric and fit and you’ll look outrageously cool and effortless at any event during the holidays. Painted dresses and tops with sleeveless coats, black and white dominating with blue and red as contrasts is a great wear in warmer climates such as here in Los Angeles. The open toe booties and temperature friendly knit and mini skirt surely ads to this winning concept as well. Finish off with an apple red lip!

THE SKATER SKIRT
The classic a-line skirt also known as the skater skirt is an incredibly versatile piece to have in your closet and has always stayed current on the runway. As you can see in the examples below it’s been present in designer shows 14/15 all over the world through spring, summer, fall and winter, in all fabrics, styled for all kinds of vibes. We’ve taken this ever evolving classic and put together a few super street worthy looks to rock on a night out, to your local music festival or to work. With just the switch of a shoe and a top you can go from sporty chic to the board room without ever losing your style.
