Inevitably, everyone looks to Paris always for fashion inspiration. Just like me, but I find it hard to admit that, and that I almost never feel like I get it just right. But then again I am an emotional dresser. One day full leather and suede, another eyelet whites to the ground with a mountain hat. It is more about catching a moment when you travel though. And see what you gain from that.. See what I mean? (Below).
Simply put, in cold weathers you layer. However if you care about what you are wearing more than anything, you are probably finding ways of doing so in all ways possible.
I have always been a fan of long sleeve. Long sleeve t-shirt, sweater, dress pretty much anything that you wear on your upper body will most likely be with a long sleeve. Until l came across that perfect tuxedo dress that just so happened to be with NO sleeve. The horror. Obviously it had to be bought and figured out later, so my idea for this including considering the weather was to implement a warm cashmere piece in an earth tone to slow the sexiness down a little bit. However if you want to avoid being mistaken for a librarian wearing that kind of layering, something needs to be added to this look. So I went for my to-go-to safe card which is leather, suede or faux leather 😉 . You could never go wrong with a leather Balenciaga anything so pants and clutch its was.
On This weeks “Style Spy” we decided to shine our light on one of the hottest models of the moments, Cara Delevingne.
Cara began her modelling career at the very tender age of 10 when she first appeared in Vogue Italia modelling for the English chocolate brand Cadbury. Since then she has continued working with almost every premium brand on the European and American market today and she is currently the face of Burberry’s beauty campaign alongside fellow british models Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn.
Cara has since her first shoot as a junior model continued on her way to stardom and landed ad campaigns for brands like Blumarine, DKNY, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Zara, and Chanel.
She has also built an incredible resume of runway shows she has walked for, and Moschino, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Stella McCartney,Dsquared, Lanvin, Givenchy and Chanel are all brands who book her for every season for their SS and FW shows.
In 2012 and 2013 she became a part of the “Victoria Secret Angel” squad and walked the prestigious annual runway show alongside fellow Brazilian super star models Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes and Gisele Bundchen.
The next venture Cara is pursuing is her music and singing. She is working with top producer of the 20th century Pharell Williams on her new album and they have recorded a song called “CC the world” which has been used for the short Chanel film “Reincarnation” in which the both star.
We hope to meet Cara during our trip to New York for Fashion Week so stay tuned for more from Re’s Weekly SS updates!
This weeks style inspiration is Brazilian long time, super model Ana Beatriz Barros who at the age of 32 has grazed more than 200 magazine covers in her career. Her style is edgy and wearable, often with a twist of leather. Anna know’s how to wear the latest colours and bring life to vintage pieces that keep coming back.
In the picture below, wearing oxblood leather trousers with one of this seasons most wearable colours from the mens collections – ink blue – gives that extra edge we just mentioned. A pair of good quality leather trousers is also something we would like to give a little extra nudge to as a serious staple in the Reload Evolve closet. Unlike any other pant staple they really elevate a simple knit or shirt, and with the switch of a flat shoe to a heel move you straight form office to evening. That and a pair of sunnies on a Sunday or a statement necklace for a Friday after work is Reload Evolve forever. RE x
I used to look up to a handful of models growing up, and one of the most frequently watched was Gemma Ward. Between 2004 and 2008 she was everywhere. Not one Prada, Valentino, Versace, Wang or Balenciaga show was put on without her opening it! And now, she is back in the game after taking a well-deserved break spending time with her boyfriend and having a baby back in her home land of Australia.
The first reason for Gemma’s break from modelling (which was the topic of conversation in every fashion blog) was to focus more on acting, which later lead to a break from the industry all together after the tragic death of her ex boyfriend Heath Ledger.
However, Gemma has recharged and is making a spectacular comeback by opening the Prada SS15 show during Milan FW and she is already gracing the December issue of Vogue Australia.
We are absolutely thrilled to see her back on the runway and we know that we will see so much more of her in the new year.
