BERLIN SS15′ FASHION WEEK FOCUS

During Berlin fashion week a lot more goes on than just the runway shows.
The international trade show ‘Bread & Butter‘ are showcasing their annual trade fair for street and urban wear, the plus-size fashion fair ‘curvy is sexy’ as well as the ‘PREMIUM‘ and ‘SHOW&ORDER‘ ordering platforms are all taking place along with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Jil Sander, Hugo Boss, Escada and Phillip Plein are some of the leading international brands from the German market, however there are some well established designers
that are climbing the expansion ladder right now!

Meet Michael Sontag, a young aspiring designer who took a break from last FW is back with a signature look of flowy kaftans and draped dresses along with some oversized knits and statement details.
This time the models were donning soaked hair and flip flops when coming down the runway drenched in a yellow dramatic light that gave the impression of a late summer sun setting.

Michaels strongest side is how he works with silk and he has created a name for him self based on those creations alone.
He likes to describe his collections as his ‘work’ rather than collections with contrasts between the seasons and he also doesn’t like to abide by trends and let forecasts determine his creations. He believes the process is the most important part of creating and to be able to express himself, which is also the reason he became a designer in the first place.
